Catching Rolf Harris at home is quite impossible for the best part of the year. When I spoke to him about tonight's special show, he was temporarily grounded for a day or two.
Rolf has been starring with The Seekers in Pop goes Australia at Expo 67. "It was a great success - we played to packed houses all the week". His wife Alwen, a Londoner, and three-year-old daughter Bindi were in Montreal with him.
The TV show this evening will be cast in the same mould as Rolf's last popular series - thirty swinging kids will be there, many of whom are newcomers, but thirteen of whom were in the last series. Once again several hundreds of boys and girls were auditioned for this new show.
Guests will include Alice and Ellen Kessler, Jose Feliciano - a Puerto Rican guitarist and singer - and what Rolf describes as an 'unbelievable' novelty act by Jo Castor. "A girl comes out with a puppet, stands it on the table and puts a paintbrush in its hand. Then she leaves the puppet - painting pictures on a drawing board"
