A PROTESTANT 'SUMMA'

on Third Programme

View in Radio Times

by J. Heywood Thomas
The second volume of Paul Tillich 's Systematic Theology has now been published in this country. Tillich is unique among English-speaking theologians in offering a comprehensive system of Christian apologetic, radically opposed to the anti-philosophical school of Karl Barth. His work is hailed in America as a Protestant alternative to neo-Thomism, a comprehensive ' vision of the real.'
The validity of this view is examined by J. Heywood Thomas , a former pupil of Tillich, now Assistant Lecturer in the Philosophy of Religion at Manchester.
