Advance Warning
In order to carry out essential maintenance work, the Droitwich Transmitter will be switched off next
Wednesday 4 September.
There will be no medium wave transmission on Radios 1,2 and 3 in the Midlands, and no long wave transmission on Radio 4 in the whole of England and Wales.
VHF/FM transmissions will continue as usual, so don't panic if your radio is silent - just switch to VHF/FM, if it is available to you. This of course always enhances your listening, since programmes can be heard in stereo.
Shipping forecasts - normally transmitted on Radio 4 long wave - will be broadcast by Coastal Radio stations and BBC Local Radio stations.
