Jazz Legends: Jackie McLean

Julian Joseph introduces recordings by the New York-born alto saxophonist and composer whose early experiences included lessons from piano giant Bud Powell. He gained high profile exposure in the 1950's, working with Miles Davis, Charles Mingus and Art Blakey. Selections include excerpts from a performance with the Cedar Walton Trio at the 1996 Cheltenham Jazz Festival.
