Radio 1 Mailbag

on BBC Radio 1 England

Anne Nightingale features listeners' letters on almost any subject.
I recently went to see Apocalypse Now, and was very impressed by its anti-war message, I began to think about kids, and how they would feel about it, and it struck me that perhaps schools should give up two or three hours a week to show films like this. I know that it's an ' X ' film, and wouldn't have been given that rating for the hell of it, but to show these views of life. particularly to kids of around 12 years old might be a good thing, as it's at this age or slightly earlier that they begin to form their social and political ideas.' The Mailbag phone-line [number removed] is open every Wednesday from 7.00 until 10.00 pm.
