A Third Programme enquiry by Douglas Brown
Third of five enquiries into education for some of the professions
The clergy today are often uncertain of their role. Their numbers decline as their average age increases. Fewer and fewer graduates are attracted to the profession: and many of those who are think that their training, often organised in 'semi-monastic' institutions, is incomplete or out of date. Yet there is a willingness to adapt and to experiment. How should the Churches be training their new Ministers?
