Tannis, a young nursing sister, is disenchanted with life in a London hospital, and goes to work at a clinic on Lake Como in northern Italy. Here she falls in love with Kerry Driscoll, the doctor in charge of the clinic. All seems set for their happiness until Kerry finds himself in a highly compromising situation when one of his patients, Countess Celia Maretta, invites him to her hunting lodge. Believing that the Count will also be there he accepts, but on his arrival he discovers that she is alone
