from Las Vegas The WBC Light-Middleweight Championship Maurice Hope
(champion) v
Wilfredo Benitez (challenger)
Britain's MAURICE HOPE faces the toughest test of his career at Caesar's Palace, when he meets the Puerto Rican, WILFREDO BENITEZ.
If Benitez wins, he will become the first fighter to win world titles at three weights since Henry Armstrong in the 1930s. He won the Light-Welterweight crown in 1976, went on to take the Welterweight title from Carlos Palomino , and only lost it after a classic battle with Sugar Ray Leonard.
Hope, whose career was nearly ended by eye trouble a year ago, has won great support since, with two brave title defences.
