The Visit: Marjorie's Quest

on BBC One London

with Desmond Wilcox
The last of four programmes
The Amazonian Indian boy she's loved and cared for over the past six years is at risk. Marjorie Jackson, the wife of the distinguished plastic surgeon who is building a new face for the boy David, wants to adopt him legally - to protect his future. At present he has no papers, no real identity - he's an illegal immigrant in Britain, and an illegal alien in America.
What does it take to get him a passport? - to turn his name from Lopez to Jackson? Can Marjorie, by journeying deep into the Amazonian jungle, find proof of his identity? Perhaps even discover his real parents? In a journey to match any professional explorer, the surgeon's wife from the Glasgow suburbs sets out into the Peruvian jungle. The sequel to last night's documentary travels across the Andes, and by dug-out canoe, with Marjorie.
