An account of the rehabilitation of Jeanne d'Arc

On July 7. 1456. the commission appointed by Pope Calixtus III to examine the trial of Jeanne d'Arc in 1431 pronounced the sentence of rehabilitation which annulled the earlier proceedings. The enquiry. based on the written records of 1431 and on the evidence of witnesses who had known Jeanne (including some who had taken part in her trial), was chietty conducted by the Inquisitor of France.
