Taking an idiosyncratic journey through his homeland, Billy Connolly sets out on a new six-part series during which he stops off in the evenings to perform in venues ranging from the big city theatres of Glasgow and Edinburgh to isolated village halls.
The scene moves from the bulldozed Glasgow street where he was born to the shores of Loch Lomond , "my favourite place", where the play of light and shade gives it a constantly shifting beauty.
Connolly talks about his approach to performing: "The worst is to go on completely confident. You should always be jumpy." His journey is studded with samples of his unique (and jumpy) comic performances. Director William McLellan
