Radio 1 Mailbag

on BBC Radio 1 England

Anne Nightingale features listeners' letters on almost any subject.
On the topic of discrimination against students, sometimes by pop groups and bands through their songs, Trevor of Leicester writes: 'We are, I'm afraid, students of the very worst variety. We fritter away many an evening chatting in the college bars. I must confess that none of our fathers possesses a Jaguar, like that alluded to in the song 'Rat Race' by The Specials, though mine does have a tractor! My pals and I work an average of 24 hours a week, and look down upon many students of our age, because they spend so much more time than us working. We could never conform to that extent.'
