Football Focus on the FA Cup Third Round with/ Bob Wilson , who says:
' Only the Cup Final itself can match the anticipation and expectation arising from Third-Round day. The reason for the excitement is simple. It is the possibility of David beating Goliath ... and David has a good track record. How do such strange happenings occur? Let me take you back to January 1971 when I was goalkeeper in the Arsenal side, drawn away in the Third Round to the famous Somerset giant-killers Yeovil. From the moment tne araw was made, the non-League side took every opportunity to undermine our confidence. The Yeovil chairman singled out Frank McLintock as too old and, more pointedly, said our keeper was " slow to fast balls ". By the time we arrived for the tie, nerves were somewhat taut; serious doubts had crept in. For 36 minutes our apprehension showed clearly, but then John Radford 's header (above) eased the tension; two more goals left us clear winners. Phew! '
