Symphony No. 4, in D minor played by the BBC Orchestra, conducted by Clarence Raybould
Schumann's Symphony No. 4, in D minor, is an extremely romantic work : each movement is closely related to the others in thematic material.
Although the themes are developed in a somewhat improvisatory manner and the-, scoring at times is insufficiently well'cal^ culated, it contains a wealth of beautiful music which outweighs any of its defects.
