Driven from their native Russia by pogroms, the Mabovitch family settled in Milwaukee, where Golda emerged as a lively young woman with a single-minded commitment to Socialist-Zionism. In 1921 that commitment led her and her husband, Morris Meyerson to Palestine where she found her life's work.
The years up to 1948 were years that for Golda were marked by great happiness for the birth of Israel and personal sadness caused by the break-up of her marriage.
