A ' telethon ' is a 24-hour TV show. Its star, Marty Rand, is trying to hide his problems behind a torrent of wisecracks which fool no one except Roy Hansen , an old friend obsessed with raising money to pay off a syndicate hit-man. For one lonely widow there is happiness when she finds love amongst the prickly pears.
