MARKINGhis name first as a brilliant concert pianist,
Grovlez has devoted many years of hard work to teaching and conducting. For a time chorus master and conductor at the Opera-Comique. he was transferred to the more important Opera itself in 1914 ; he has conducted Opera in the United States, too. The stage has naturally claimed a share of his own composition, but he has given us purely orchestral and chamber music as well. and his pieces for pianoforte—his own original instrument-fire naturally admirably laid out to display its best qualities.
