Competing in this year's European Championship will be the new National Champions, Roy Bradshaw and Sue Getty, sixth last year, and Glyn Watts and Hilary Green. They share the task of defending the title held for Britain for the past four years by Bernard Ford and Diane Towler.
Russians Alexander Gorshkov and Ludmilla Pakhomova offer the most serious threat to the British domination in this event.
