France actuelle: 3: The Languedoc and Occitan

on BBC One London

A series of five films on modern France

Occitan rather than French is the original language of much of southern France.
In the Languedoc region, it is enjoying something of a revival and has become the focal point of a new mood of self-determination among the Occitan people, who have a historic resistance to central government.
