Roxy Music guitarist
Phil Manzanera talks to singer/ songwriter Robert Wyatt , a 2004 Mercury Prize nominee who started his career as drummer with 60s fusion rockers the Soft Machine.
A solo artist since the early 70s and paralysed from the waist down since 1974, Wyatt has armed his social and political commentary with a frail, falsetto delivery, used to poignant effect in his covers of Elvis Costello 's Shipbuilding (1983) and Peter Gabriel 's Biko (1984). Contributors include Brian Eno and Annie Whitehead , plus archive interviews with John Peel , bassist Noel Redding and Jerry Dammers. Producer Kathryn Wilgress
