A programme of gramophone records presented by Francis Toye.
Francis Toye, Director of the British Institute in Florence, is at present in this country on a short visit, during which he is presenting three gramophone-record programmes. This afternoon's is the second. His next programme will be on Bank Holiday, and will be entitled 'Waltz Time'.
Toye studied composition under Professor Dent and S. O. Waddington. For some years he was on the Daily Express, first as a leader-writer and later as music critic. Thereafter he joined the Morning Post as chief music critic.
In addition to musical journalism Francis Toye has written a novel, a one-act play that was produced at the Royalty Theatre, studies of Rossini and Verdi, and numerous songs.
