Two-thirds of the world's fresh water is kept ' on ice ' in Antarctica - the frozen continent also has vast reserves of coal; it may have oil and gas, as well as minerals such as gold, cobalt, copper and chromium. The seas around the Antarctic are brimming with valuable shellfish. Who owns these riches?
