An ex-military policeman is assigned to investigate a murder on army property.
Partnering him on the case is his former commanding officer and sworn enemy Lt Col Caldwell. As the investigation develops and their hostility grows, the two men uncover a violent conspiracy at the heart of the San Francisco military compound, the Presidio.
