With Donald Macleod. 2: Vienna
Beethoven arrived in Vienna in 1792 with the support and recommendation of his previous employer, the Elector of Cologne, and of his friend Count Waldstein. He soon made a favourable impression, adding the name of Prince Lichnowskyto his group of sponsors and acquaintances. But recent revolutionary experiences in France had made Viennese authorities nervous.
