Youth Out of Work

on BBC One London

The first of two programmes
Unemployment among young people, already at record levels, is expected to become even worse in the next few years. Is there a solution?
PROFESSOR TOM STONIER, Chairman of the School of Science and Society at the University of Bradford, believes that the answer does not lie in industry, where new technology will reduce the number of jobs still further. In this lecture to an invited audience he advocates a radically different solution - a massive expansion of the education system.
