Choirworks

on BBC Radio 3

Paul Guinery is in conversation with octogenarian Eric Ericson, one of the most distinguished and influential Swedish choral directors over the last six decades. He was the first director of the Swedish Radio Choir, and still conducts this choir, as well as his own singers and other choirs all over the world. His choice of music includes Swedish folk songs arranged by Stenhammar and Alfven, works by Ingvar Lidholm, Poulenc and Messiaen, and his much admired recordings of Richard Strauss's Der Abend and Max Reger's Ach Herr, Strafe Mich Nicht.
