This powerful sequel to A Man Called Horse the English aristocrat captured by a tribe of Sioux Indians in 1825. In 1830 the Yellow Hand tribe is attacked and driven from its land by the rival Rickarees who have been bribed by a group of fur trappers.
Returning from England to his adoptive tribe, Morgan finds the Yellow Hand survivors impoverished and broken in spirit. But before he can help them to defeat their enemies, he has to undergo once again the agonising Sun Vow ritual.
