Topical issues of private morality and public ethics come under the spotlight each week in a new series of the programme in which Joan Bakewell dissects the matters affecting everyone - from the people in power or in the pulpit to those on the streets.
Among the issues examined during the series is the question of whether Japan should pay compensation to prisoners held in wartime labour camps.
Other dilemmas on the agenda are whether vets should co-operate in factory farming, and whether men should work with very young children. Series producerMichaelWaterhouse
