A new version by JOHN WILLETT from the original translation by ASHLEY DUKES with This play, by one of the best-known writers of German
Expressionist drama, focuses on the last day in the life of a bank cashier. One morning, on a sudden impulse, he absconds with a large sum of money, leaves his family and strives to make up for a lifetime of frustration. In the course of 12 hours he puts to the test the alleged power of money to buy excitement, love and salvation.
