At the back of a small hall are the gates of a lift. Some way up above these is the lift itself, and in it are Mr. Moon and Mrs. Heather. Standing by the gates of the lift are Mr. Heather, Miss Lettuce Trout and the Commissionaire. Mrs. Heather and Mr. Moon open a conversation which is not heard by those below.
