Live from the Royal Albert Hall , London. Written for the 40th anniversary of the October Revolution, Shostakovich's graphic symphony looks back to the failed uprising against the Tsar in 1905 and contrasts with Stravinsky's virtuoso description of a fireworks display. The centrepiece of the programme is Marc-André Dalbavie's new Piano Concerto inspired by William Faulkner 's The Sound and the Fury. Presented by Sarah Walker.
