In 1947 Dr. Paterson visited the Netsilik Eskimo of Pelly Bay, just south of the North Magnetic Pole, during a Cambridge University Expedition which undertook the first Arctic exploration since the war. They are the most primitive people in the northern hemisphere, so inaccessible that our civilisation has hardly influenced them
