The Other Half

on BBC One London

with John Pitman
Six love stories about six very different couples people in the public eye and the partners who share their private lives.
3: Gillian and Peter Gillian Lynne , top theatre director and choreographer of Cats, is 52. Her husband Peter Land , an actor, is 30. They met and fell in love when she staged the musical My Fair Lady in which Peter played the juvenile lead. When Peter proposed, Gillian was hesitant: 'I thought he should be made fully aware of all the drawbacks - like the fact that I wouldn't be able to give him children.' But they did marry three years ago and are very happy, despite all the sceptics who said it just couldn't work.
At the moment Gillian is the main breadwinner because Peter is still struggling to make the big time: 'But as far as I'm concerned - and it's difficult to convince him-our family is a business. And therefore it's family money. All of it.'
