Drafted into the army on his wedding day, band leader Kay Kyser proves wholly inept as a line officer and is assigned to counter-espionage work. Before long, a female agent sets him up as a target for seasoned assassins and causes problems for Kay and his new bride. But he finds time to lead his band in a few tunes including 'Got the moon in my pocket', and 'Just plain lonesome'.
