A new English version by Stephen Jeffreys , from the play Am Zeil by Thomas Bernhard. An elderly Austrian woman and her daughter are about to make their annual visit to their seaside house in Holland. On the eve of their departure they see the successful premiere of a controversial new play and, on the spur of the moment, invite the young author to come away with them. Terrified by his newfound fame and attracted by the daughter, he agrees.
