The payload is the weight of the commercial load carried by aircraft, and consists of passengers, freight, and mail. Canada leads the world in the amount of freight carried by air. These payloads have been the most important factor in the development of Canada's great North-Western resources of minerals. This programme, first produced in Canada in 1940, tells the story of that development.
