After a diver is killed while trawling Black Lake, northern Maine, an unusual tooth is pulled from the body. New York palaeontologist Kelly Scott identifies the tooth as coming from a giant crocodile, and joins Sheriff Hank Keough, game warden Jack Wells and mythology expert Hector Cyr in a quest to catch the creature.
