Ludwig Koch introduces recordings made in Iceland
Early this year Ludwig Koch introduced a group of recordings of the Great Northern Diver, made in Iceland in the summer of 1953. In this programme he presents another wild and romantic voice of the Arctic, which he recorded during the same expedition. The long-tailed duck is a winter visitor to Britain, particularly to the Orkneys and Shetlands, but it breeds only very exceptionally with us and has never before been recorded.
