Travellers' Tales: Shadow of the Reindeer

on BBC One London

Told by Brian Parker.
The fairy people, says an old Lapp tale, came into the world because Adam and Eve had many children. One day, God came to visit Adam and Eve, and Eve made haste to wash the children. But she didn't have time to wash them all, so she hid those who were not washed. Then God asked Eve if she had any more children and Eve answered 'No'. Then God said that those who were hidden from him should be hidden from man, and should wander invisible on this earth-with their reindeer.
