The personnel of this popular and very successful band is composed entirely of Lancashire pit workers. For many years the ' Bickershaw ' have been hard to beat at the big festivals and competitions. In the last eighteen years they have won over 200 prizes, including fifty ' firsts '. They won the Crystal Palace Championship in 1935 and 1936.
