Underwater Speeds by J. H. S. Blaxter of the Scottish Home Department
Marine Laboratory, Aberdeen
Scientists have long been puzzled by the high speeds that appear to be attained by some marine animals, and it is only in the past few years that reliable information about the swimming speeds of fish has begun to accumulate. This knowledge is of great interest to the marine engineer and biologist, as well as to the commercial fisherman. The speaker reviews research done in Aberdeen and elsewhere.
