Songs of Praise

on BBC One London

for Easter Day from Wells Cathedral.
Tonight a return to Wells Cathedral for an Easter Songs of Praise.
Geoffrey Wheeler meets the people of Wells - some of whom, in experiences which echo the sadness and the triumph of Easter, have known pain and suffering and yet manage to overcome them - people like Susan Stevens who suffers from cancer, or Sally Brown, the head girl of Wells Cathedral School, whose parents died when she was 14. Join choirs and congregations from the Cathedral and the city's churches as they rejoice this Easter day.

Jesus Christ is risen today (Easter Hymn): Ye watchers and ye holy ones (Lasst uns erfreuen); Teach me, my God and King (Sandys); Let all mortal flesh keep silence (Picardy); 0 Christ who holds the open gate (Gonfalon Royal); Lord of the dance: Dear Lord and Father of mankind (Repton); Alleluia, Alleluia (Lux Eoi)
