Brandy for the Parson by CHRISTOPHER RUSSELL based on The Distracted Preacher by THOMAS HARDY with Hywel Bennett as Philip Carpenter and Elizabeth Proud as Dolly Pocock
The late 1820s. Philip Carpenter , an inexperienced young Methodist minister, arrives on the Isle of Wight to take up his first appointment. He lodges with an attractive young widow, Dolly Pocock, only to discover her to be involved with the smuggling, then rife along the channel coast. His ideals, in conflict with his heart, are put to the test.
