Stage and Screen: The Sherman Brothers

on BBC Radio 3

A look at the career of songwriting duo Richard and Robert Sherman, composers behind Disney films such as "The Jungle Book", "Mary Poppins" and "The Parent Trap". This week, one of their best-known classics, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang", takes to the London stage in a brand new musical version of the film.
Edward Seckerson talks to Jeremy Sams, the author of the book, Michael Ball, the show's star, and to Richard Sherman himself on the eve of its premiere.
