The Return of the Buddha

on BBC Radio 4 FM

During the British invasion of Tibet 100 years ago,
Captain Arthur Hadow looted a bronze Buddha statute, which he later bequeathed to his granddaughter Celia. Now she sets off to the Himalayas in the company of John Nightingale to return the stolen statue to the exiled Dalai Lama. Along the way she reads her grandfather's letters from the front.
