Sports Personality of the Century

A celebration of a century of sport, hosted live from BBC
Television Centre in London, by Steve Rider and Sue Barker. The climax of the live programme will be the awarding of the Sports Personality of the Century, alongside the honouring of the 1999 Sports Personality of the Year, which will be selected by viewers in a telephone vote during the show. Also awarded tonight, in the presence of sporting stars past and present, is a special Helen Rollason Award in honour of the BBC presenter who died earlier this year. See Choice.
