by Albert Camus
Three programmes complied by Anthony Astbury from the translation by Philip Thody.
From 1935 until his death in a car crash in 1960, Albert Camus kept a general literary diary which he called his Carnets. In these notebooks he jotted down themes for future works, conversations overheard in the street, and reflections on travel, love, death, loneliness and art.
