Gillette Cup: Second Round Worcestershire v Essex from Worcester
The most attractive county ground in English cricket is the setting for what could be a very closely fought match.
Worcestershire, back to full strength after early season injuries to Basil D'Oliveira and Vanburn Holder, meet Essex led by Keith Fletcher and including Keith Boyce.
The Gillette Cup, the oldest of the one-day competitions, is now in its 13th year. Neither of today's teams have ever won the cup, though Worcestershire have twice been losing finalists. But Essex who have been the leaders in the three-day County Championship and the Sunday League must hope that this must be their year to win this trophy.
