on BBC Radio 3

JANE GREGSON (soprano) REDCLIFFE ENSEMBLE conducted by LIONEL FRIEND Dallapiccola Piccola musica notturna
Anthony Payne The world's winter
John Lambert Waves (first broadcast performance)
' Waves ' is the largest part of a projected five-part work called ' Sea Change':
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange.
Ariel's song in The Tempest, with its powerful image of transformation, gave John Lambert the idea of writing several pieces, each with the same genus.
