Millionaire brothers Mortimer and Randolph Duke decide to create an experiment in human nature. They frame their nephew Louis, a pompous stockbroker in their own firm, for theft and drug pushing. As Louis's privileged life crumbles around him, they install the down-and-out conman Billy Ray Valentine in his place.
